Originally from Michigan, Sarah Gottfried holds a BFA in Dance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Studies. She has lived off-grid as an artist-in-residence at The Sable Arts Project in Vermont where she created works as both a dancer and visual artist. While at Sable, her perspective on the intersection of art and daily living dramatically shifted, and she hopes to continue to explore that shift throughout her work. Sarah has had the privilege of performing works by Bobbi Jene Smith, Crystal Pite, Trisha Brown, and Kelly Todd; and within the New York area, has performed with companies VALLETO, EBDance, Tinted Windows, and One Day Dance. She has presented visual art in correspondence with dance performance, as performed at SMUSH Gallery. And Sarah is currently teaching as a private Pilates instructor, as well as pursuing an M.S. in Integrative and Functional Nutrition from Saybrook University.
