Kelsey Burns

Kelsey Burns is a New York City-based movement artist with a diverse dance background including flamenco, musical theatre, tap, modern, jazz, ballet, contemporary, salsa, and American Rhythm ballroom. She has shown work and performed in venues such as Dixon Place, the Actors Fund Theatre, the Performing Garage, House of Yes, the Jerry Labowitz Theatre, and the Center for Performance Research, among others, and has worked with Cirque du Soleil, NYC Dance Week, the Cecilia Marta Dance Company, the New Dance Collective, and NYC Dance Project, a dance-photography collaboration. She is currently a Company Dancer with both The Movement Playground and Movement of the People Dance Company, both based in NYC. Kelsey has served as choreographer for both classical and contemporary productions, from Shakespeare and Molière to Duncan Sheik’s Spring Awakening, and Michael John LaChiusa’s Little Fish, which she co-directed with Audra Labrosse. Kelsey graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she studied the integration of dance, theatre, and performed narratives.
