Sarah Gottfried is originally from Traverse City, Michigan, where she trained in many styles at Dance Arts Academy/Company Dance Traverse under the direction of Betsy Carr, Melinda Baker, and Marjorie Randazzo. During high school, she toured and performed in Europe as part of the Young! Tanzsommer dance festival, and her choreography was selected to perform at the 2014 Michigan Youth Arts Festival. In 2017, she graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in dance and a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Studies. Sarah has performed in works by Elizabeth Coker, Bobbi Jene Smith, Trisha Brown, Jack Gray, and Crystal Pite. In 2018, she worked as a solo artist-in-residence at The Sable Project in Vermont - both in dance and drawing mediums - and during her time here established a strong relationship with farming and sustainable living.
